We have the option of sending free faxes right on IV itself.
Ganguteli, I hope you are not just a 'body'. Has anyone on this thread faxed anything through that website supporting illegals?? People @ IV (may be not all) are smart enough to use their tool for our advantage.

Thanks chanduv23! I used the template he provided this morning (with some editing) to email senators from my state of residence.
Guys, please use this template to email senators from your state.
Also, please contribute to IV. I just did today, and believe me, you will feel better for doing so...
This is not just for you and me, but also for those who will come after us. Also, this is not a battle just to sue USCIS/DOS, but a war we need to fight on multiple fronts:
1) First and foremost, we the immigrant community need to join hands and fight as one cohesive group.
2) Sue the government agencies for damages/violation of law/precedents due to the revised visa bulletin
3) Get this matter the attention it deserves in the media
4) Try and get congress to intervene in this matter, and also introduce and pass legislation that will fix the broken employment based immigration system
5) Request corporate sponsorship. Since employers spent money on this fiasco as well, they will have a vested interest in pursuing this as well.
The main thing, however, is funds. IV needs funds to fight for us. Each of us has already spent 100's (many even 1000's) of $ trying to get ready to file our I-485's. So even if 10,000 members contribute just $100 each, it will be $1 mil. I am sure each of us can at least spare that much. It is a small price to pay for liberation from this GC mess for all of us....
With ~15,000 members already, and hopefully some serious $$$$$$ raised, IV will be a force to be reckoned with. No one will be able to treat us with such utter disdain ever again...

They did say that they only had "a handful" of visas left. This advance is not necessarily inconsistent with that earlier statement. In order to use up visas and avoid waste, the Visa Office has to manage the quota to make sure that there are enough applications AND ADJUDICATIONS to exhaust the quota. They have no control over the CIS, but they do have control over the overseas consular posts.
What this tells me is that the CIS is doing nothing (or next to nothing) to use up India and China E2 numbers. By advancing the cutoff dates last month, VO was able to make more cases at overseas posts available for close out. Since the CIS obviously did not use many China/India E2 numbers in July and August, VO has had to advance the cutoff dates again to make enough cases pending at consular posts available to use up those few remaining numbers.

Guys I had posted this yesterday IV is a non-profit. Check the video below - there is nothing to hide:
Immigration Voice funds disclosure on Yahoo! Video (http://video.yahoo.com/watch/234998/1863489)
The fact that IV is helping Donors is because all its activities are only possible because of Donors, and we are still short of funding. If this was for all for free, then no campaign could be acheived.
And believe it or not , we get a lot of spam and rogue users visiting IV.
BTW I am not in IV management
We need you and a lot more to join. I can't believe you cannot trust IV a non-profit organization with even $25
I know Immigration voice is not for profit organization and it is doing a great job.
My intention is not to belittle IV, my intention is just to express my opinion as a user, most of the problem will be solved if the links are not shown to non members if they are not allowed to see the content.
I just saw your post in YouTube, it is very informative.

U.S. Mail:

Mesquite, TX 75185-2401
Thanks. I did not e-file my application. I had sent my package to the same address as yours (except for the Attn E-file line) via USPS.
Should I call USCIS to clarify things up or will they forward it to the Vermont center if it really needed to be mailed to vermont?

I agree with Bob here, as I've shot with both Nikon D1's and F5's from back in the day, to the latest stuff. I've done the same with Canon through the 90's and the current crop.
I feel like Canon has the upper hand on Nikon currently in both bodies and lenses.
Bob did label his opinion, most likely without thinking about it -- with the IMHO, to avoid attacks as such. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and none of us can 100% say that Canon lenses are better than Nikons.. No one here does bench tests, price comparisions, etc.. It's just field use and preference that determines this.
Back into your corner's fighters! Let's argue about sports or hot women before we waste our time on the merits of macro lenses!
Back to the topic at hand.. I think the Nikon is probably her best bet because of the build quality and apparently the kit lens is pretty damn good. You can pick up the D70 w/o the kit lens for $999 MSRP, which is only $100 over MSRP the 300D. So maybe the first question is, decide if either kit lens is fine for you. Then determine the build quality, and lastly determine which lens system you might want to grow into.
I don't think you can make a bad decision either brand you go with. We can all be happy with that. Competition is good.
-- Matt
Thank you Matt. Must have been a misinterpretation of what I said or how I said it. I also said to Janey that the D70 would be a great choice.
and my opinions, for sure, are only humble and only biased to my own degree of using both mfrg's equipment.
If I wanted such references that were bestowed upon me, I could have easily stayed at "that other site" where one can always pick up an insult or two in a matter of minutes. "Dejavou' ...all over again." (sp?)

house usage in the human body

Maybe not. I believe that the perception is that Americans would prefer to have no bill at all than a bad bill. If people learn that the House is the one trying to kill what they considered a bad bill - the amnesty one - so they that should not perceive all Republicans as a rotten after all. The Senate is a different story because a number of Republicans there have adopted a liberal stance on this, therefore incumbents may well be kicked out. If the trend continues, lawmakers pro amnesty may be voted out whether they are democrat or republicans.
Good to know views from the other side. CNN polls and other polls show that majority of Americans want to address immigration issue in a fair manner. Let me know which polls you are referring to, I would surely like to look at them.
Yes, you rightly point out that election pressure will have a bearing on this important issue. Republicans are smart, they do not want to re-inact what happened in France recently. The exploited underclass of immigrants in France rioted on the streets. We don't want that here. There are far too many immigrants as a percentage of total population in USA vs France, it would be unthinkable.
Almost a million people in California demonstrated recently. Those were the biggest peaceful demonstrations since the civil rights issue. Maintaining a status-quo, by not passing a CIR bill will make it obvious to Americans that Republicans can't pass an effective legistlation even when they control both houses. Republicans don't want to hurt their long term strategy by doing this. No governance is bad governance unlike no news is good news.
Given the current rates of immigration, demographic change because of looming baby-boomer retirement, off-shoring and globalization, Republicans understand that US looses its leadership role to China, India, Russia and Brazil unless they have a comprehensive strategy to keep America competitive by addressing this vital issue.
Borders can be secured and make it difficult for people to move into US but they won't stop them from moving out of US, if they are treated unfairly, for better opportunities elsewhere.

He has his contact info on his website as well.

Guys, didn't he quit after he was indicted in the 1984 riots? I am not really absolutely certain but I think somebody else is running the NRI ministry!

What if you have to leave the job before 180 days, about after 150 days? When I say you have to that means there is no alternative. Employer-Employee issues. Quite a few folks here might be aware of it. But anyway, I read that USCIS will consider 180 days based on the I-485 'Received Date' and I-140 'Revoked date' will be the date USCIS act on the letter they receive from Employer requesting to revoke I-140 not the date employer will send letter to USCIS. I'm aware that there is no specific guidelines of which date USCIS will consider as 'Revoked date', but I heard USCIS mentioned verbally in many conference that they consider I-140 'Revoked date' as when USCIS act on the letter they receive from employer. Any thoughts?

If the other guy worked for the company atleast 180 days, then your employer cannot prove that he had no intention to work for the company. If the guy worked for only a short time or didn't work at all for the company, then the company can win the case.
The greencard of the other person will be rescinded. You can then use his labor.
We dont know all the details of the case. If the person who got 485 approved worked for more than 180 days for the sponsering employer.

Exactly....I don't say this a trick by USCIS to divert our attention but that will definitely be the result. Everyone here (except with the older priority dates) will face retrogression very soon. Please try to understand this folks.
Everyone will file for 485 and will get stuck in the backlog, before you know if, it will be Oct-08 and then they will scrap the old system and make everybody file under the point system. Which of course would be a nightmare as the USCIS or one of its derivatives would not be able to cope with the flood of application. At the end of the day all of us would be 1000s of dollar down and would still be posting here complaining about the process.
Bottom line is, with a limit of 20 amendments, one can be assured there won't be one looking out for us out on the fringes.

I have a question regarding use of EAD and living in Canada
My scenario
Currrently, I work on H1-B and am living in Canada (I cross US-Canada border everyday)
I am also a Canadian Citizen and used that to cross border everyday. So, far I never used the EAD
I recently got laid off, and planing on using my EAD for my next employment.
Questions
Once I start using the EAD, can I still live in Canada and work in US.
Is it necessary to live in US if one starts using EAD?
Did you file for I-485? If so, what is the address mentioned in the I-485 application? If it is US address, then you should be residing at that address.
I-485 application indicates that beneficiary is residing in the USA and applying for adjustment of status.
