per my lawyer you can come back from EAD to H1 by filing a new H1 petition (if its past 6 years on H1, then you need some basis like approved I-140 or old LC). You will need to leave the US and return to activate the H1. So thats always an option if you jump to EAD.
In your case, you can still file a H1 transfer, if it comes without an I-94 attached (meaning H1 got transferred, but status was not activated which typically happens when last H1 status ended more than a couple of weeks ago like in your case) all you need to do is leave the US and return some PoE where you will get hte new I-94

I would bet that Satyam would be barred/ delisted shortly from nasdaq. SEC will surely take some action.
In a publicly traded company, it is almost impossible for one individual to siphon money.
I guess what might have happened here is, Satyam might have faced falling revenues year-on-year. In a sector, where each competitor is reporting 40% profits, to keep upto the performance of sector, they might have been pressured to falsify their revenues.
Now what i am unable to understand is, how come an esteemed audit org like PWC could cover up or fail to findout discrepancies. Either the auditors were stupid and overlooked, or Mr Ramalinga Raju covered up the tracks very well.
In the end it all hurts the stock holders and the employees. This one is going to go down big time in our history, and i bet its going to change the landscape of our IT services sector.

It is FBI that is responsible for namecheck ... not sure USCIS has any control over them. My understanding is I-485 premium processing would apply only to USCIS processing of the paperwork.
Then, of course, it won't help much because for most people name check is taking 2 years, and 485 processing via the regular route takes less time than that.

Yes! If there's nothing wrong in your EAD application (which should be none because USCIS received it), expect to receive your EAD approval on the third to last week of October.

Yes these emails to congressmen will never be that effective as really walking in the streets of DC. I lived in DC for more than 2 yrs.

I am giving the scenario more clearly..
My name Before mariz is"Venkata Naga Sunita" surname: "Prachina" (changed identity).
After mariz surname changed to "Naveena".
When I applied for H4 alongwith my husband's H1B, I had my passport with old surname(Prachina). That passport got stamped for H4. Later I got another passport with surname changed(Naveena). At this point, I have one passport of old surname with H4 stamp and another passport with new surname.
While entering into US this January, on I-94, I wrote "Venkata Naga Sunita" Last name: "Naveena". In March, DMV ppl told me that the name in the I-94 should match with Visa". When, I applied for H1B in May with this new surname and attached this I-94 that has new surname "Naveena".
During H1B processing, I had to visit my home country on emergency purpose and got approval of H1B on Sept 7th, which is valid only from Oct 2nd. I re-entered to US on Sept10th and wrote my last name as "Prachina" on I-94(to match with current H4 Visa with which I am entering US). I find Ron Gotcher's website very informative. It�s your choice not to read or to disagree with the speculative part, but he definitely is doing a fantastic job of educating the immigration community by answering the simplest of questions. I don�t care if this is a marketing tool for him, but I get a huge relief on the verge of getting laid off, when he quotes from the law-book to assure me that it�s ok to be unemployed after AOS. He takes the time to do that for me. There are not too many out there doing the same!
