I would like this idea to materialize but I am just wondering how it is practical.
Except for waiting for a visa number to be available all other delays are due to the time that it takes to process a case (and also due to the country quota). In labor stage, DOL determines if there is any citizen who fit in the labor description and who is looking for a job. In 140 stage, USCIS determines if the company is in good standing and has the ability to pay. In final stage, the candidate�s biometrics is taken and his background checked. All these are essential process in adjudicating a GC case in the employment category. I just do not how all these can be surpassed and candidates handed over a GC, let alone citizenship.

It's always a good practice to take a receipt notice of any action done by your lawyer & keep that for your records.
When you apply for EAD, soon USCIS will ask you to do fingerprints(BIO-2). I think you missed that part and it might be denied or void as it was left for so long!
You can file for new EAD online at https://efiling.uscis.dhs.gov/efile/InteractionMgr?interactionmgr.interaction=SetupEfo rms×tamp=1127234762990
Create your account & you can file your self with out lawyer's assistance. It's always suggested to file EAD(I-765) & AP(I-131) jointly. You can pay by credit card.

You must add I-485,EAD,AP & I-140 receipt numbers like LINXXXX and you will get emails when they get approved. You can also see the changes on 'LAST UPDATED' column, which means your case is touched by an officer. But it's not the confirmation of approval until status message has changed or you got an email.
Go thru these 2 links & familiarize well. Hope your I-140 has approved. Finally these are suggestions only & I am not a lawyer. Consult an immigration lawyer if you have uncanny issues.

If I am not wrong, buffering wud be to take in new 485 applications, process them and keep them ready.
In that context, most of the applications till 07/07 have been preadjudicated, new buffer wud require dates to be pushed to 07/07 or later.
If they add EB2ROW Fall across numbers(6-8k) from first 6 months it will be 20K towards EB2IC backlog. USCIS may need buffer since all pending cases are not pre-adjudicated and some cases will be denied.
20k can clear all back log until 01-JAN if they need buffer they can move to 01-MAR-2007( 2 months or 5k) or 01-MAY -2007 (4 months or 10k), worst case can go to 01-AUG-2007(7 months or 15k)! my guesstimate.;)

From the punjabi's perspective, it is entirely punjabi's fault. Because he knew what he is getting into when he signed the contract. From the public perspective, the banks were stupid to loan money to everthing that moves and later asking for bailout money from tax payers. I think this is what RDB is trying to say.

My status was changed from Initial Review to PDA.The status changed on Aug 7th. There is no CPO or Decision status in between.

I got my 485 Approval notice copy on Dec 13th and haven't received any welcome letter or my actual card.
Is any one in the same state. How long does it take for the actual card to come.
I need to renew my DL by end of this month. Can I renew it using my 485 Approval notice copy?

I am sure that in India incarceration is very low because lot of criminals don't go to prison, instead they rise in politics like your leaders Advani, Modi , Laloo etc. (who would have languished in a prison in any other civilized country) and become prime-minister material. :D :D
Or are you planning to pratice some white-collar crime/fraud here after getting the coveted GC - like starting a "consulting company" to import indentured servants at dirt cheap prices? :D :D

Can we do a blood drive next as protest! seriously. Donate blood as protest and for media attention.
I totally support the blood donation idea. I am pretty sure, a blood donation drive would be front page news on American Red Cross web site also. It should send out a message that the GC is so important to us.
The actual collection of blood hopefully will be fully carried out by the American Red Cross.

I have sent the letters today to WH and IV.
I have also sent group emails to my batchmates from my engg college asking them to join IV. I think everyone should do that - this will help IV to Increase its Memberships.
I had one more suggestion too - (this has recd less support in the past).
we need to put in a statement that many legals are not buying a house because of the uncertainity in the GC process. even the congressmen will be more patient with our cause when we mention housing.

During the discussions on 1485 filing provisions we there were questions related to EB2, EB3 backlog numbers post 2007 july + Based on the recent information we got on pending numbers + our discussion on if EB2 will get current this year helps us understand how the last quarter will behave. This analysis is not official and is our own interpretation based on information we know. We do not wish to seek out specific information on visa bulletins. It has not been IV policy. VBkris has been involved with IV statistical analysis of data and has been in meetings with officials. He has come up with an explanation to this news and how it may play out for the last quarter. His interpretation makes sense to me and I have asked him to post on the forum.
